It's highly unlikely I'll be updating this page anytime soon. I'm in the midst of my research, and until I get more organized I don't want to post anything here. However, here are a few tidbits about my research.
I am currently trying to track down the birthplace of my great-great-grandfather, Franz Silas Troendle (or more accurately Tröndle, since this is the correct German spelling of the surname). About all I know is that he was born January 31st (or the 28th or 29th depending on which records you believe), 1826 in Baden, Germany. Since Baden could either mean the town of Baden-Baden, or the region of Baden (much like saying one is born in Iowa) I am having difficulty tracking down his birthplace. It seems likely that Baden represents the region rather than the town, but I won't know that for sure until I dig a little deeper. Franz Silas immigrated to the US sometime before 1859 when he became a naturalized citizen. Specifically, he settled down in Center Township in Allamakee County, Iowa. Franz Silas married Anna Marie Kehr in March 1860. Anna Marie was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kehr. She was born September 12th, 1842 and died July 22nd, 1915. Oddly enough, my grandmother on my mother's side was a Kehr...hmm.
Franz Silas and Anna Marie had seven living children at the time of Franz's death on May 5th, 1900. Sons: William, Frank, and George (my great-grandfather). Daughters: Annie Hausman, Matilda Schach, Lizzie Gruber, and Louisa Doehler. They also had four daughters who died of diptheria, presumably while very young. At this time I am unsure of the names of these four daughters.
My grandfather's name was Carl Henry Troendle and my father is Richard (Dick) William Troendle. My paternal grandmother is Rita Troendle (nee Schulze). My mother is Janice Kay Troendle (nee Beck) and my maternal grandparents were Walter Beck and Emily Beck (nee Kehr). I have one sister, Tara Lynn Rust (nee Troendle). And lest I forget, my beautiful wife is Jennifer Lynn Troendle (nee David) and our daughter Kyra Emily Troendle. I guess that's all for now, if you think you may have any information to add to my research, don't hesitate to email me below!
